Dr. Mugisha Balaam is a born-again general medical practitioner, involved in private practice. He has been involved in the campaign against increasing Noncommunicable diseases with a keen interest in Diabetes, Hypertension and obesity. He is married and has four children. In his career, he worked with the public health services of Uganda and served in various district hospitals and Mulago hospital, which is the national referral hospital. He served both in the administrative and health services provision sectors.

He also, before his retirement, worked with the health sector of the Anglican Church of Uganda in Ankole Diocese. He has a degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery obtained from Makerere University Kampala. He has attended many health-related conferences both at national and international levels. He has a passion for all human beings to adopt the healthy and economically productive lifestyle.
